The Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development held a meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank, where they discussed the second stage of the project to purchase 120 12.5-meter electric buses for the city of Bishkek.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to allocate a concessional loan from the ADB in the amount of $25 million from the ADB's ordinary capital resources and a grant in the amount not exceeding $25.65 million from the resources of the ADB's special funds.

At the first stage, the fleet will be updated by purchasing electric buses with zero emissions. They will also modernize the infrastructure of two trolleybus depots, create a pilot "green" mobility corridor and train personnel to service a new type of public transport.

Recall that contracts for the purchase of 140 10.5-meter buses on gas have been signed under the EBRD project.
